Step 1: Open the Instagram app on your phone and tap the plus icon in the top-right corner.

Step 2: Select the image or video you want to post and tap the right arrow at the top.

Step 3: Edit your post as usual and tap on the right arrow again.

Step 4: On the following screen, you’ll see the Add music option along with some trending songs. Tap the Add music option to view the music library.

Step 5: Under the For you tab, you’ll find a selection of recommended songs. You can also use the Browse tab to explore different genres or the search bar at the top to find a specific song.

Step 6: Select your preferred track and use the slider to pick a favorite section of it. Then, tap on the right checkmark at the top to proceed.

Step 7: Tap the right checkmark again to upload your Instagram post. The title of the song will appear right above your post.

How to Add Music to an Instagram Story

Instagram stories let you share exciting moments of your everyday life with friends and followers. You can spice up your Instagram stories by using filters, effects, stickers, text, and other features. Adding music is another way to make your Instagram story more interesting. Here are the steps for the same.

Step 1: Launch the Instagram app on your phone and tap on Your story option in the top-left corner.

Step 2: Select the photo or video for your story or record one using the shutter button.

Step 3: Tap the sticker icon at the top and select the Music sticker from the menu that appears.

Step 4: You can either search for a song directly or explore different genres under the Browse tab. You can also hear a short clip of the song using the play button. Find and select the song you want to add to your story.

Step 5: Move the slider to select the part of a song you want to use. You can set the clip duration to anywhere between 5 and 15 seconds.

Step 6: Scroll through the available sticker styles to select the one you like and tap on Done.

Step 7: Place the music sticker in the desired location on your story.

Step 8: Tap the arrow icon in the bottom right corner and then tap the Share button.

How to Add Music to an Instagram Reel

Follow these steps to add music to an Instagram Reel.

Step 1: In the Instagram app, tap the plus icon in the top-right corner, and select the Reel option on the following screen.

Step 2: Use the shutter button (white circle) to record your reel. Alternatively, you can swipe up and add a video from your Gallery.

Step 3: After that, tap the music icon on your left and select your preferred song.

Step 4: Use the slider to select a clip of the song you wish to use and tap Done. Then, tap Next.

Step 5: Apply your preferred filters, effects, or stickers, and then tap Next.

Step 6: Lastly, add the relevant details and tap the Share button to post your Reel.
