Once upon a time, audio editors were the domain of serious audiophiles. But now you, me, and Jane can do our own splitting and editing. That’s thanks to the clutch of user-friendly audio tools available for us wannabe ‘sound engineers’- though, I will only take it to the extent of doing some basic editing on MP3 or Wav files. For this simple job, the free but capable Wave Editor sounds like the right tool.
Wave Editor was designed from the ground up to be efficient, fast, and without a learning curve. The free audio editor can cut, copy, paste and delete sections of a sound file (MP3, WMA, or WAV) selected using the mouse or by entering the start and end time of an audio clip. You can save the selected clip as WAV or MP3. The maximum supported file size is 2 GB.
